Danielle Sontz-Morrison, RN, MSN, is a clinical training manager at Altruista Health. She has been with the company since 2016.

What would you say to someone who is considering a career in nursing?

This is a very stimulating time in healthcare with many options. It’s a rewarding time to be a nurse. Nurses truly make a difference daily and if someone wants to have an impact or be a leader, nursing is a great career opportunity.

What inspired you to become a nurse?

I have always loved helping others in a time of need and had worked as a paramedic in high school and beyond. This inspired me to go further in my career and pursue a degree in nursing.

What is the best part of your nursing job?

I love working with families and patients, and now at Altruista, I enjoy training our clients on our applications so that health plan client members receive good care that they might not have had.

Anything else you want people to know about your profession?

Healthcare is in constant change, especially right now, and this is the most exciting and demanding time for someone in this profession. If one wants to make a difference in outcomes and have flexibility in what they do with many options in a career path, nursing is a great career. If embraced, this profession can be very challenging, yet very fulfilling as well.
