Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City Looked for One Platform to Integrate Care

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC) is the largest not-for-profit health insurer in Missouri and the only not-for-profit commercial health insurer in Kansas City. It has been part of the Kansas City community since 1938 and now provides health coverage services to more than 1 million residents in the greater Kansas City. Altruista Health announced in October 2019 that Blue KC had completed a comprehensive vendor evaluation process and had chosen Altruista’s technology platform, GuidingCare, for care management of its members.

Blue KC serves 32 counties in Missouri and Kansas and has a strong community focus as the largest locally based plan in their market. Blue KC looked for a single platform to integrate care management, utilization management, pharmacy, reporting, and coordination with members and providers. They found it in GuidingCare.
